On October 02, 2023: Adani Energy Solutions Limited (formerly Adani Transmission Limited) commissioned the Kharghar Vikhroli Transmission Limited (KVTL) project, which will allow Mumbai to receive more power and meet its growing electricity needs. This is a critical project for Mumbai, as the existing transmission corridor is not able to carry enough power into the city.

Mumbai has experienced two major grid failures in recent years, on February 27, 2022, and October 12, 2020. These failures caused power outages in many parts of the city for extended periods of time. The Kharghar-Vikhroli transmission line will help to prevent future grid failures by bringing an additional 1,000 MW of reliable power to Mumbai. This project also integrates Mumbai into the national grid, giving the city access to a wider pool of power sources. This improved reliability and stability will benefit commuters, businesses, and residents alike.

The KVTL project includes approximately 74 kilometres of 400 kV and 220 kV transmission lines, as well as a new 1,500 MVA 400 kV gas-insulated substation (GIS) in Vikhroli. This is the first 400 kV substation of its kind in Mumbai, and it is the most compact design of its type. The GIS is vertically stacked, which minimizes the space required for the substation.

AESL faced a number of challenges while building the transmission line, including difficult terrain. However, they were able to overcome these challenges through the use of technology and innovation. For example, they built six towers in creeks using floating barges. In urban areas, they used special horizontal configuration towers to overcome height restrictions.

KVTL project delivers 1,500 MVA substations, 400 kV transmission lines, and LILOs to integrate Mumbai into the national grid, traversing urban areas from Kharghar to Vikhroli.

Adani Transmission Limited (ATL) belongs to the Adani Group. The Co is a private-sector power transmission and distribution company engaged in the business of establishing, commissioning, setting up, operating and maintaining electric power transmission systems in India.

On Friday, the shares of Adani Energy Solutions Limited plunged 2.55 per cent to Rs 809 per share with an intraday high of Rs 826.95 and an intraday low of Rs 800.27. The company has a market cap of over Rs 90,000 crore and gave multibagger returns of 226 per cent in 3 years & a whopping 400 per cent in 5 years.

This power generation company’s stock is likely to be in focus tomorrow, October 03, 2023.
