Larsen & Toubro Construction bags order worth Rs 1,904 crore

The construction arm of Larsen and Toubro has won orders across its business segments viz Power Transmission & Distribution business and Smart World & Communication Business. 

The Power Transmission & Distribution business has won orders for construction of 400kV and 225kV Transmission Lines to evacuate power from the Midelt solar power station in the Kingdom of Morocco.The business has been granted another order from Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company for the construction of a 220kV overhead transmission line from Toshka in Egypt. In Algeria, the company has won orders to build a 60/10kV Gas Insulated Substation in Annaba City. Yet another order has been secured from the Nepal Electricity Authority for the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 220kV Substations. 

In terms of the domestic order, the company has secured a project for the construction of 220kV and 132kV Transmission Lines and Substations in Madhya Pradesh and in Tamil Nadu another major order has been won for the establishment of a 400/230kV Gas Insulated Substation. The business segment has received an order for urban electrification and sub-transmission works in Jammu. Orders have also been bagged to build grid-connected rooftop solar photovoltaic systems and solar-powered irrigation systems in the states of Bihar and Jharkhand.
 

The total EPC order for the Power Transmission & Distribution business is worth Rs. 1,723 crore.
 

The Smart World & Communication Business has secured an order worth Rs. 181 crore for the implementation of Goa Intelligent City Management System for Panaji City as the Master System Integrator (MSI). The project would engage the business in the deployment of smart systems including Wi-Fi & Surveillance, Solid Waste Management, Traffic management & Parking, etc.

At 11:20 hours, the shares of Larsen & Toubro were quoting Rs. 1,297 per share, up by 0.45 per cent per share on the BSE, while the BSE Sensex was at 37,612.19 level, down by 0.21 per cent on Tuesday.
