Five stocks witnessing short covering
Short covering refers to buying back borrowed securities in order to close out an open short position at a profit or loss.
Sensex and Nifty opened the third session of the week on a strong note. At 11.53 am, Sensex was trading at 61,135.64 levels, up by 0.86 per cent while Nifty climbed 0.79 per cent to be at 18,198.60 levels.
M&M, Reliance, and Bajaj Finance turned out to be the top three gainers today, which surged 2.47 per cent, 2.38 per cent & 1.80 per cent, respectively. On the other hand, the top three losers include Titan, TCS, and Wipro, which plunged 1.17 per cent, 0.70 per cent & 0.49 per cent, respectively.
