Airtel, Amazon partner to launch affordable 4G smartphones

The telecom operator and the e-commerce major join hands to offer 40 smartphones, starting at a price of Rs. 3,399. The scheme aims to promote the use of 4G network among new smartphone users.

To entice more customers to avail the offer, Amazon India is also offering a cashback of Rs. 2,600 for the initial period. The cashback can be availed in the form of recharges for Airtel subscription over a period of 36 months. This will help Amazon promote itself as a mobile recharge platform.

The offer also combines Airtel Mera Pehla Smartphone initiatives of Rs. 169 prepaid recharge, which provides 1GB data per day, with unlimited voice calls (STD + Local) for 28 days. If a customer makes 24 Airtel recharges of Rs. 169, they will get and extra cashback of Rs. 600 from Amazon.

Meanwhile, at 12:12 hours, the stock of Bharti Airtel was quoting Rs. 362.00 per share, down by 1.24 per cent on Friday.
