ABB Power Products bags Rs 100 crore contract from HPCL Rajasthan Refinery
Hitachi ABB Power Grids in India, listed on Indian stock exchanges as ABB Power Products & Systems India Ltd, announced that it has won a project of more than Rs 100 crore from HPCL Rajasthan Refinery Limited (HRRL), a joint venture between state-run Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and the Government of Rajasthan.
The infrastructure development will help to power its new refinery and petrochemical project in Barmer district of Rajasthan. The project has a total processing capacity of nine million metric tonnes per annum and is aimed at producing clean fuels and feedstock for textile, packaging as well as petroleum industries. Apart from this, it is expected to create about 1,000 direct jobs upon completion and up to 40,000 indirect jobs during construction, while contributing to the states’ economic development.
Hitachi ABB Power Grids is delivering a 220/66-kilovolt (kV) substation to assimilate power from the state grid and deliver it smoothly and efficiently to the Barmer refinery. To maximise power availability, the substation is equipped with advanced substation automation systems to control and protect HRRL’s grid.
This project is part of the company’s broader strategy to penetrate the industrial segment and highlight its long-standing leadership in grid connections and power quality.
At 12.45 pm on Thursday, the stock of ABB Power Products & Systems India Ltd was trading at Rs 945.45 per share, down by 3.10 per cent or Rs 30.25 per share on BSE, against a 1.26 per cent gain in the benchmark index. The 52-week high is recorded at Rs 1100 and the 52-week low is Rs 714 on BSE.
