5 worst large, mid and small cap performers
Indian indices have gone through a bumpy ride for the last one year and the potholes are only getting deeper. The S&P BSE Sensex hit a 52-week high of 40,312.07 on June 4, 2019 and made 52-week low of 33,291.58 on October 26, 2018.
Looking at the Large cap index, S&P BSE LargeCap has made 52-week high of 4,645.66 on June 4, 2019 and made 52-week low of 3,867.52 on October 26, 2018 with an average return of -11.23 per cent. Out of total 91 companies, 61 companies have posted an average negative return of 24.59 per cent in last one year. Whereas, only 30 companies have posted average positive return of 15.94 per cent in last one year. Following table shows the top five large-cap companies who have posted the highest negative return.
Looking at the Midcap index, S&P BSE MidCap has made 52-week high of 17,017.26 on September 3, 2018 and made 52-week low of 13,335.7 on August 2, 2019 with an average return of -18.21 per cent. Out of total 105 companies, 75 companies have posted an average negative return of 32.38 per cent in last one year. Out of total 852 companies, 734 companies have posted an average negative return of 41.84 per cent in last one year. Whereas, only 118 companies have posted an average positive return of 23 per cent in the last one year.
