NTPC Unveils Indigenously Designed 100TR Air Conditioning Plant
NTPC has recently inaugurated an indigenously designed 100 TR air conditioning pilot plant at its Ramagundam facility using waste heat from fuel gas. This innovative pilot plant is designed in-house by NETRA, the R&D wing of NTPC. The system is a green house gas free Air Conditioning system, utilizing waste heat from flue gas of a 500MW coal based power plant at Ramagundam STPS. Four control rooms of the power station have been air conditioned from this system. This system consumes less power compared to the conventional AC system. Recently company’s director technical A K Jha unveiled the plant during an inauguration ceremony.
Stage is set for oil sector PSUs to pay more dividends
In its quest to boost its exchequer government has come very close to executing a plan that it is deliberating since very long. Finance ministry has asked all profit making Public sector undertakings (PSUs) operating in oil and natural gas sector to pay at least 30 per cent dividend during the current financial year. There are 14 oil PSUs and they have to pay minimum of 20 per cent dividend on PAT or equity, whichever is higher. As per the media reports finance ministry has sent a note to oil ministry last month which clearly says that lower than reasonal level of dividend would be construed as implicit subsidy which government can’t afford given the level of its commitment.
Hudco and NBCC come together to develop lands of government entities
To develop the land bank and plots of various government bodies for providing housing facility and office spaces in various cities of India, prominent housing development companies in public sector Housing & Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO) and National Building Construction Corporation Limited (NBCC) come together. Two companies have recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that will use the strength of both the public sector undertakings. While HUDCO will be providing the funds and design support for construction, NBCC will use its project management expertise and technical knowhow to develop and market the properties. MOU was signed by VP Baligar, CMD, HUDCO and AK Mittal, CMD, NBCC in the presence of Joint Secretary (Housing), Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation (MoHUPA), N L Manjoka.
