Useful Guidance

Thank you for having provided me with the guidance that I sought. Your suggestions were indeed very insightful, and I intend to follow the same to the core so as to build a good corpus for myself going forward.

The cover story ‘Time To Buy These Stocks?’ (DSIJ Vol. 27 Issue No. 5) made for some good reading material. It is a fact that for people like us, it sometimes becomes difficult to distinguish the wheat from the chaff. There are many stocks which you tend to invest in just because they are popular. Stories like these actually help in identifying what is really likely to work and what could probably fail. Hope to see some more insightful stories like these in the future.

Journal Par Excellence

I have been a subscriber and a dedicated follower of Dalal Street Investment Journal for a long time. Before commenting on anything, I must appreciate the efforts put in by your esteemed journal to address and educate investors like me. I must say that my favourite sections are the Cover Story, Hot Chips, Choice Scrip and Low Priced Scrip. I have been an ardent follower of the recommendations, and have been investing in most of the scrips recommended by your magazine.

The latest cover story on the Automobiles sector (Auto Sector: Speed Breakers Ahead) was an eye opener. After the budget, in which the excise duty was hiked, the title has proved to be true in the real sense. The simple and crisp language of the story helped us to understand the details.

The MF Corner section that has been started recently helps address the issues of many investors. The DSIJ Perspective (The Crumbling Dynasty And A Rising Son) in the last issue was also truly an interesting story that has shown how the political scenario in India is panning out. Please keep up the good work and keep addressing investors’ concerns.

Compelling Stories

I read the latest issue of Dalal Street Investment Journal and was really impressed by the content. To begin with, there were so many stories to suit everyone’s interest. I especially liked the story on the Union Budget, as well as the report on the UP elections. The government does exactly as was described in the article on the budget, playing with numbers while leading people into a false belief that the economy is doing really well. However, that is not exactly the case. In fact, the government presents a rosy picture in the budget but fails to keep its promises. Even if it would fulfil half of them, the country would be better off.

The other story on the Assembly elections was a crunching one. It is indeed true that dynastic politics is crumbing. It is high time that the politicians learn from this and play development politics instead. As for Rahul Gandhi, it would be great if he proves himself first and then claims Prime Ministership, rather than thinking of the post as his birth right.

The MF cover story (Diversification: When It Doesn’t Pay) was also worth looking at. The topic was apt, and would definitely help people while making investment decisions. Keep up the good work!
